OUR APPROACH

What makes mentoring work.

Our model reflects what decades of research and experience tell us about strong mentoring relationships.

Consistency builds trust.

Mentoring isn't a single conversation; it's showing up, again and again, over the years.

Honesty is the foundation.

Real conversations, honest feedback, and steady encouragement matter more than having all the answers.

Questions over answers.

Mentors don't hand down solutions, but instead they help each young woman build the confidence to find her own answers.

Her path, not a copy.

The goal is for every girl to discover and grow into her own strength and style, and no one else's.

It takes a circle.

Strong matches last because a whole community — staff, families, schools, and fellow mentors — stands behind them.

In her own words.

Sandy is really easy to talk to. When I'm feeling down about something or not on my best days, she talks to me and tries to calm me down and brighten up my mood.

Lauren helps talk through my problems and to think outside of the box.

Aliah takes the time to help me understand things whenever I feel stuck, and she's supportive when it comes to my interests.

Maura takes me out to places, which is good because sometimes I need a break to go out and have fun.

Talia introduces me to new places and ideas.
